The IPO is expected withing a year or so. However, for now, NTPC is scouting for strategic investors in its renewables business to boost market value. NTPC Renewable Energy is a 100% subsidiary of NTPC. With aggressive renewable plans of Indian government, NTPC Renewables is likely to attract interest from PE players, pension funds and energy giants.
