Both the schemes are from different categories and therefore are not comparable with each other. Axis Flexi Cap Fund belongs to the newly-introduced Flexi Cap category while Axis Long Term Equity Fund is a tax saving mutual fund scheme wherein the investors get benefits of tax deduction of up Rs1.5 Lakh u/s 80C.

However, there is a statutory lock-in of 3 years in the case of tax savings schemes. Thus those investors who have room for investment u/s 80C can prefer Axis Long Term Equity Fund while others can go for Axis Flexi Cap Fund.

However, it is very important for the investors to undergo a comprehensive risk profiling exercise and invest according to their risk appetite, investment horizon and long-term realistic financial goals of life as the risk grade of both the mentioned schemes is "Very High".
