Among numerous investment schemes, one can invest to multiply wealth over time, and the National Pension Scheme is considered one of the best. NPS is a pension *** investment scheme launched by the central government which invests the contributed amount in market-linked securities across equities and debt. The current interest rate on NPS contributions is 8-10% depending on the invested amount. 

Here are the best NPS Schemes across categories: 

Government Securities Fund (Scheme G): Scheme G invests in high-maturity bonds that are over ten years in general. The best scheme under the plan are: 

LIC Pension Fund: The fund has generated the highest five-year returns of 10.23%. 
Kotak Pension Fund: The scheme has given the highest six-month returns of 24.81%

Corporate Debt Segment (Scheme C): This type of scheme invests in high-rated bonds. Only SBI is present in the lower-rated bond segment among various fund managers. The best plans under the scheme are: 

ICICI Prudential Pension Plan: The scheme generated the highest five-year returns of 9.84%. 
SBI Pension Fund: The scheme has the largest AUM of Rs 1,800 crore with a five-year return of 9.40. 

Equity Fund (Scheme E): The scheme sticks to equities and invests in mid-cap and large-cap stocks, with large-cap witnessing around 95% of the allocation. The best schemes under scheme E are: 

HDFC Pension Fund: It has outperformed its peers and has given a return of 8.24% in the last five years. 
SBI Pension Fund: The fund has the largest AUM of Rs 8,865 crore and a 5-year return of 7.38%.
