Which is the most profitable heavyweight company in India currently; HDFC Bank, TCS or Reliance Industries?

TCS may have to perhaps thank weak oil prices that it has once again emerged as India’s most profitable company after a gap of 7 years. TCS regained the mantle after Reliance posted a sharp fall in profits in the March quarter. Reliance revenues and profits took a deep cut because of the sharp fall in oil prices in the global market resulting in inventory losses of nearly Rs.4245 crore. For the March quarter, TCS had reported net profits of Rs.8069 crore as compared to Rs.6348 crore reported by Reliance Industries. However, RIL still leads the race in terms of market capitalization and terms of operating margins.
