Why are hospital stocks like Apollo Hospitals, Max Health and Fortis Healthcare at all time highs?

The number of healthcare and hospital stocks may be limited but most of the big names are at their life-time highs. The three big names mentioned by you; Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare and Max Healthcare all have scaled their life time highs in the bourses. These stocks have rallied 12-15% in just the last one week on the back of very robust June quarter.

Most healthcare stocks gained from a sharp increase in occupancy which shot up from as low as 38% last year to 67% in the current year resulting in substantial absorption of fixed costs. Fortis stock price was at Rs.266 after turning around to profits of Rs.430 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
