India's current account balance for the fourth quarter ended March 2021 showed 1% deficit as a percentage of GDP. However, India ended FY21 with a current account surplus of 0.9%, which is rather creditable. This was largely on account of robust current account surplus reported in first two quarters. In the last two quarters of FY21, the pressure on the current account came from a sharp spike in gold imports.
