Due to surplus cash and high bond yields, the RBI cancelled the auction of government securities (G-Secs) worth Rs. 24,000 crore scheduled on February 18. Even the previous bond raising auction of 11th February had been cancelled. Higher borrowings target for FY23 and a hawkish Fed has caused a sharp spike in bond yields. AT these levels, there is no sync between the demand and supply in the market.
