Indian Oil Corporation plans to invest a sum of Rs.9,028 crore to lay a new crude oil pipeline that will connect Mundra in Gujarat with Panipat in Haryana. The pipeline will connect the crude arrivals at the Mundra port with the IOCL refiner facility at Panipat in Haryana. The capacity of the pipeline will be 17.5 million tonnes per annum.

In addition, IOCL will also build 9 crude oil tanks with a capacity of 60,000 kilolitres. This pipeline will ensure smooth flow of crude to supply the Panipat refinery with additional crude as it expands its refinery capacity at Panipat from 15 MTPA to 25 MTPA.
