Why is the Adani group now foraying into media space?

Adani has been considering its media plans for some time and has already put a team in place. In fact, with successful forays into power, renewable energy, ports, FMCG products and airports; Gautam Adani next target is the media sector. It may buy stakes in local television or even in print news outlets.

Several deals are currently being studied and are under consideration. For a company of the size and influence of the Adani group, media forays are not just about profits but about clout and about syncing content with digital strategy. Adani has already established AMG Media Networks, headed by Sanjay Pugalia, former CNBC executive. Adani group may also look to buy a stake in Quintillion Business Media, owned by Raghav Bahl.
