Will the Tata Neu offer only Tata group products or will it also offer third party products like Amazon and Flipkart?

While the original plan was to only offer Tata group products on the Tata Neu platform, the chairman N Chandrasekaran of Tata Sons has clarified that they also planned to offer third party products so that the Tata Neu becomes a true blue neutral agnostic ecommerce platform. It will only leverage the existing customer base and footfalls of the various Tata group touch points to enhance their business expansion.

Of course, needless to say, Tata brands like Air Asia, Big Basket, Croma, Tat Hotels, Starbucks, Tata 1Mg, Tata Cliq, Tata Play and Westside are already on the Tata Neu platform. In addition, the other units of Tata group like Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq and Tata Motors are slated to join. However, Tatas have not committed on a time line when the third party products will be also made available on Tata Neu.

Tata Neu officials confirmed that in the first one week of launch, the app had already seen downloads to the tune of 2.2 million. There have also been a substantial growth in transaction on the platform since its launch. The Tata group is confident that their offline brick and mortar presence will help the app as well. Tatas have been on an acquisition spree in the last few months to spruce up its digital offerings.
