On the special session called on Saturday, the UK House of Commons voted to put off the BREXIT vote. This was the nth time that the deal has been left in the lurch. After more than 3 years of discussions, debates and compromises, it is time for UK to take decisive action. Let us not forget that the BREXIT referendum BREXIT represented the will of the people and that has to be respected. But what we have now on the 19th of October is just a vote for added confusion.

The voting was close in the final analysis; but the bottom line is that there is still no solution in sight. During the special session on Saturday, the House voted 320-306 in favour of postponing the decision to a future date. That is just buying time and is only trying to force another delay by Boris Johnson. Boris Johnson has been insisting on keeping the 31st of October as the cut off but that now looks to be increasingly difficult. What the vote does is to virtually preclude BREXIT without an acceptable deal and that could imply a delay of not less than 3 months in the process. Of course, Johnson can still stick to his October 31 deadline but he may not really do something like that.
